Topic: LCD Flaky

Got my Novena Laptop today and assembled it being very careful with the LCD panel. Everything seems to be fine upon boot, however shortly afterwards (~2min) the LCD blanks. The backlight is still on and I'm still able to run commands (verified by editing files blindly.) Worst case I suppose is that I need to buy a new LCD panel, but I'm curious if it might be something else since I don't believe I damaged the LCD.

Anyone else having a similar issue?

Hmmmm, moved the LVDS cable out from under the main board. Previous had this problem and it seemed to be correlated with USB input.

After moving it, it still seems to wink out every now and again, next step is replacing the cable I suppose.

That looks like the calibration issue.  I'm not sure what's causing it, exactly, except to say that a reboot seems to fix it.

Interesting comment about USB input.  Maybe there's a weird analog issue there.  I had thought it was related to the board calibrating at the wrong moment.

Can you try installing a newer U-Boot (which will enable the LCD before Linux) and a newer Kernel (which will not try to re-calibrate if U-Boot has already enabled things)?
