Hi!  It's an open design, so yes, you're free to spin boards yourself.  There are people who are making PCBs of the battery board, for example.

We went through great lengths to make sure that most (if not all) components can be easily sourced from places like Digikey.  The eDP adapter board uses a hard-to-get chip, but it's relatively easy to get on Taobao.
