Topic: Possible acceleration issues?

I just upgraded all of the novena related packages, and I wanted to test to see is hardware acceleration worked. When I try to use the command "glxinfo", I see this error:

name of display: :0.0
libGL error: MESA-LOADER: malformed or no PCI ID
libGL error: unable to load driver:
libGL error: driver pointer missing
libGL error: failed to load driver: etnaviv

I also see this:
display: :0  screen: 0
direct rendering: Yes
server glx vendor string: SGI
server glx version string: 1.4

Right now my etc/X11/xorg.conf file is the same as the /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/60-novena.conf

Thanks in advance!

Re: Possible acceleration issues?

I think that's "normal" and [2D] acceleration should work fine: … 2043#p2043

The easy check is to try to drag a window around the screen. If it doesn't lag like mad, you've got 2D acceleration.

Re: Possible acceleration issues?

Correct.  We don't have Mesa 3D acceleration yet.  You should have 2D acceleration, as evidenced by playing a video fullscreen.

Try playing something using mpv (or mplayer or VLC, but mpv is the most efficient) and you'll be able to scale the window, as well as run it fullscreen.

Re: Possible acceleration issues?

Alright, that makes sense. Thank you for clearing that up!
